Enhancements for SWAT 3 - Tactical Game Of The Year Edition =========================================================== TITLE: Enhancements VERSION: 1.5 CREATOR: Finn MacCool CONTACT: finn_mac_cool@lycos.com DATE: 21/02/2003 ABOUT ENHANCEMENTS ------------------- Enhancements for SWAT 3 - TGOTY is basically my vision of how SWAT 3 could have (should have) been. Little adjustments (such as spelling and grammar mistakes) have been made, as well as fixes to art and reticles and some "behind the scenes" data. Also I have "enhanced" things like the sounds (gunfire, flashbangs, C2) as well as ingame effects (such as flashbang smoke and sparks). Minor AI code ideas from Gunslinger's Violent Offender mod, which changes to the way AI act and react has been borrowed - suspects now actually drop their weapons when shot in their arms/hands and when they are frightened or injured. Also they will sometimes execute hostages when things get loud, so when you make that change to Dynamic, there's no going back to stealth (just like in real life). Suspects also have better hearing, they can hear you on the other side of a door if you're too loud. I've also decreased suspects accuracy but upped their rate of fire - this is for an increased realism approach as well as varied style of gameplay. Although this mod has been primarily designed for the Single Player experience, alot of the stuff carries over into multiplayer as well. To get the full benefit of this mod, I encourage you to start a new single player career and play through the game again or play some co-operative missions. Other features: *Fixed the wrong ammo showing up on status screen for some weapons (primary was secondary and vice-versa) *Reticles cleaned and fixed up *Ammunition (decal and penetration) errors fixed up *Gas and Flashbang affective range increased *Rare dialogue increased (hear those suspects and hostages say some whacky and hilarious stuff) *Flashbang and C2 effect looks SO MUCH BETTER! *Subtle shell and UI art fix ups (those MP5SD's were originally quick and nasty) NEW features since 1.27 (original release): *Finn Secure animations added to all classes; when a character is cuffed they are now layed flat on the ground *All new effects sounds; most recorded and remixed from actual weapons and equipment used in the game *Minor .dat changes; decreased suspect's alertness and prevent them engaging from ridiculously long ranges If there's one thing I hate about SWAT 3 mods, its those huge compilation mods (that are usually unreliable due to the mixing and replacing of mod data). Enhancements is the complete opposite. It fixes and changes only the things that need fixing (in my opinion) and leaves what's good, alone. It's very small (under 1mb) and so can be easily downloaded. REQUIREMENTS ------------- *SWAT 3 TGOTY Edition (v2.0 or above) INSTALLATION ------------- *Copy the Enhancements 1.5.zip file to your Mods folder *Run the MOD program that comes with SWAT 3, deactivate all other mods and only activate Enhancements *Save and exit (or) launch SWAT 3 and away you go UNINSTALL ---------- *Deactive Enhancements from within the MOD program *Delete Enhancements 1.5.zip from your Mod folder (not neccessary) WARNING -------- This mod has NOT been tested with other mods.
